A 25-year-old Ontario man has become the second firefighter killed in British Columbia, and the fourth to die in Canada this season.

He was headed to the Donnie Creek wildfire Friday when his vehicle rolled over after failing to negotiate a sharp drop in the road, according to CBC.

"He was transported by helicopter to the Fort St. John Airport, but sadly succumbed to his injuries while en route," the RCMP said in a statement. "Our deepest sympathies go out to the family and friends of this young man, as well as to his fellow firefighters."

The Donnie Creek wildfire is the largest ever recorded in BC history.
